Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls in our community and throughout the world. We work to achieve this through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

Soroptimist International was founded in Oakland, California in 1921. Since then it has grown and we are now represented in more than 120 countries and territories worldwide with 95,000 members. The Ventura Chapter was chartered on March 15, 1930.

The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve.

Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best. Learn more about the exciting ways we work to improve the lives of women and girls right here in Ventura and around the world.
